OK just for an update. We pulled the motor and broke it down. Everything was reusable on the motor except the one Apex of course. Replaced that with a extra seal that was laying around and put it back together (thanks Chuck) After having so many problems latley I went through the whole car checking the fuel pump, replacing the filter. Ensuring all the grounds were in the right place and all bolts were tight.

Doing some "testing" I found that my injectors were going to about 92% and between 92 & 94% they fail and the engine goes lean. This was apparant just by looking at the commander while rolling on the gas. When the duty cycle got to that point the knock would immediatley jump across the screen to 114 and higher. That coupled with some readings before while logging the wideband voltages and MAP sensor voltages I found out that my car was overboosting.......ALOT!!! I ended up turning the boost controller all the way down and it still boosted 1kilo. I have since adjusted the wastegate and now boost about .9kilo and duty cycles stay low and the car pulls hard.

After experiencing this My opinion of the Mazda 2pc seals has risen. I have been running lean and boosting 1.2 or more at times and they held in there for a while. I have learned a lot from this and even RElearned some stuff I already knew! but thought I would pass this on to anyone wondering about the seals.

Good to know you got it figured out and that the seals are good to use.

But my question is how did you not know before that you were overboosting?

hahahaha must I answer that in public The boost guage was going pretty high but I was not paying much attention to it......I know I know..... However the power FC never ever gave a boost reading above 1.1kilo. I turned he VVC down little by little and on most days it stayed right at 1kilo but I think in the mountains in the cold night air the pressure went really high.

Also when testing even though the guages showed 1kilo the MAP sensor voltage was maxed out almost as soon as I hit the gas. I kinda figured all this out after I grabbed the VVC **** and turned it way down.......All the way down and it still boosted 1kilo. Looking back on it I feel kinda retarded but hopefully I have it under control now.

ha, well thats a good lesson to learn. mine is in the knock sensor with a haltech thread. you need to build the car so that the driver doesnt have to look at the guages cause they dont.

Sounds like he did what I did. To this day I still don't know what the boost guage on my car read the night it blew. I assume it saw somewhere around 20psi. Hope the car does well for you from now on. Mine seems to have suffered a little more damage and will take a little longer to repair. Because of that I probably won't have it back on the road until May.
