hello. im gettin set to put the main bearings in the stationary gears on the fd gears and noticed there is no tangs on the new bearings.

is this normal am i to belive the bearing is just supost to hold via press fit or do i have a mis manufactured set of mazda factory bearings?

FD bearings are retained by a screw through the gear with a nub that pokes through one of the oil ports.

thats the thing, i have a s6 set of gears and there is no screw holding the bearing in, the old bearings where tanged also have a set of s6 re gears wich are worn heavy and not wanting to run them are also tanged.

anyone have a pic of the frount and rear gear so i can see what the hell im workin with here?

I dunno.. ALL FD and 20B main bearings are held in by set screws....maybe yours arent fd?

thats whats odd, one set came from a rew motor the other set came from a re motor both jdm motors, both frount gears are the larger thrust area and definatly not fc the rear all look the same.
