Yes.



Most of the improvement is in the larger diameter below the choke. So, the ratio of obstruction from the throttle shaft and butterflys to total area is smaller.



Stay with the jets that are in it now and work from there. The advantge of the 51 is in total flow up high.



So the fuel delivery requirement is a bit higher, along with HP. It probably has the Gross jet already.



Remove the bass bolt in the inlet and see if there is a screen in there to remove.

I have done the float bowl extension mod as you described above.

The attatched image shows that the entire wall to the extra non-used accelerator pump has been milled out.

Looking at the carburettor, it seems like the bowl volume has been increased pretty drasticly by this little effort



I am working tonight and will bring the top cover and mill out the land in the fuel inlet.

This time milling out the screen-filter land in the carburettor inlet.
