If you actually want to have fun with this as a father / son thing, build a car following a proven path.



Even a three rotor is not legal in anything short of Pro Outlaw. You'd have to be ready to run an 8.0 to be competitive by the time you get this built.

What can you expect, when what you're thinking of doing is only based on your perception that "More rotors=more power" and not on how capable a 20b is or how you will even manage to tame that power or put it to good use!



The other's advice is important: Go 20b.

Although I would love to have the braggin rights of a 4 rotor, the cost is not really in the ballpark. I could get a decent 3rotor for $10k, the extra rotor adds at least another $10k. A bosted 3 rotor has more bang for the buck if you want my opinon. I priced it out once, the eshaft & center housings were $10k alone. You can get a 20b for about $3k, and rebuild it for a lot less, and still end up with decent hp.

Actually, we're stripping the living hell out of the stock one. My dad's got backing from a guy who builds these cars (and some stock cars) for a living. I suppose the first thing we'll do is get rid of everything we'll not be using: seats, brakes, engine...etc. Everything will be out (and probably parted out to you guys) to give us some sort of approach. If anyone has any tips on other things to rid myself of or change out for lighter, let me know.

The NOPI series now allows 4-rotor engines. Pineapple Racing right here in the states has built 4-rotor engines.

Has one in stock now, an old school version with 12A parts, but you still have to open your wallet fairly wide to own it.
