Interesting engine damage

Pulled this thrust plate from a core motor about a week ago. Needless to say, the rest of the front assembly wasn't exactly wonderful either.

I wonder if it was put in right side up or not and the spacer would have dropped into the bevel...

No, it was installed correctly. The the torrington bearings dropped and e-shaft shifted forward, shattering this thrust washer, cracking the thrust plate, and more etc. damage.
