I was looking at FD UIM swaps for the 2nd gen and then my friend was showing me aftermarket intake manifolds for his dsm which are supposedly a lot better than stock. I was wondering the benefits and if it was even a worthwhile venture to possibly fab up something like that for the RX-7, there are major gains on their cars so i was wondering if it would help on our cars.

stock manifolds are runed for stock ports, if you port too much u will gaina lot more with a custom mmanifold then still useing the stock one.

I`m in the middle of building one which uses a stock (ported)13b 6port tb. It`s going on a bp 6port. The engine is going to be dynoed, and if I get the time, I`ll brake the engine with both the manifolds so we can see the difference..

Pics of the manifold will be posted as soon as it is done, hopefully by the end of this weekend.

Cheers

He is building a custom manifold to use the stock TB. He wants to compare the stock manifold to his custom one.

i dont think a custom manifold is nessessary, since most gouys get 500hp out of the stock one before switching over to a single butterfly "surgetank" setup

One, we're not talkign about turbos here. Two, just because you can make 500 hp on a stock manifold doesnt mean its not being a restriction.
