I just pulled appart my 88 n/a . It was overheating and some white smoke. I couldn't find a bad spot in the o-rings and the plates are straight. My side seal wear on the front and rear plate both have a small section of wear that jumps up to .0056 can I reuse these or are they junk? Is this wear patern normal if not what could have caused it ? I have another motor with 138K what are the chances of those plates being good ?

thanks

Dave

I forget the max wear allowed but you can always block sand it with 400 grit paper to smooth them tracks out some.

If it's no good the engine will just smoke like a chimney and have lower compression if they are really bad.
