Help Removing A Stuck Side Seal

if this is the groove, stick the sideseal in it like this. The bold represents where the stuck part is. The equil is the groove. The verical line is the sideseal you are inserting into the groove. The O is the corner seal.

Then tap the base of the vertical side seal. It should not break if you hit it squarely. Be gentle, and keep at it. I've taken apart some VERY nasty motors (900+HP explosions) and this almost always works for me.

I removed a stuck seal by gently heating the rotor with an Acetylene torch, worked very well.

I have couple of rotors that I have been messing around with trying to get side seals out of. Today I made a little progress, for the seals that had about 2 inches left stuck in the groove, I bought a flexable putty knife from autozone, it was 3 bucks and thin enough to go into side seal groove without distorting it. Using a mallet and some taping the seal from one end and trying to move it to one corners, it came out very easy. Now the stuck seals that are nearly complete it was useless using this method.
