6 Flat Corner Seals
#1
Ok, first off this isn't a bashing thread. I just need info from the builders. I have all six corner seals as flat or sunken in lower then the rotor. I have not been able to pull any out yet. I don't have a strong enough magnet. I'm not shure if the spring collapsed or if there is even springs in there.
So the question is: If all six collapse, can this cause a wobble and clip the corner of the apex seal cause all the rest of the damage. Could the second peice of the two peice apex seal have fallen because of the flat corner seals and then taking out all three apex seals from the aftermath? :cursing:
1500 miles, first redline of break in, 10lbs of boost, street port, stock map, etc.
Driven another 500 miles after 0-0-0 front reading the next morning.

There is a scratch on one of the side housings but none on the sides of the rotors. Could a peice of apex make its way between the iron and rotor? It looks like it's possible the second small peice of the two peice apex seal is what broke off. Why was there stress on only one corner of the seal? Could the rotor been out of balance? Could the front eccentric shaft bolt not being torqued down been a cause? If it was lean, why was the rear rotor in perfect shape?
Well, except for the rediculous amount of carbon for only 2k miles.

Obviously, the rotor is trashed.
Get the corner seals out to verify if you are running corner seal springs.
If they are no corner seal springs, that's obviously a problem.
If the corner seals were flattened, it was overheating and / or detonation.
Why was the motor lunched?

I'll try to get teh corner seals out this weekend but I think only a strong magnet will pull them out cause they look wedged in there.
I hit 1500 miles and i opened her up for the first time on the highway and then whoosh, whoosh, whoosh and no power, engine gone. goodby $4k+

they are wedged in there, the rotor is bent. something was way wrong if it popped that fast....
