Ehh there's a bit more to it then that, of course if you've gone throught the trouble to turbo a VW motor then you've probably done all the rest of the stuff you need.

Mostly stock VW heads won't deal well with methanol. I suppose 041 aftermarket heads probably could manage but I'd make sure they were hardened, etc before trying it. There's also the question of head temps as well.

There's also the fact that you have to rework the hoses and what not to deal with methanol as it has zero lubrication properties and will eat regular fuel components alive. Again if you're going through the trouble of doing this I'm guessing you'd have upgraded all that neat stuff.

Yeah, you are right. I still find the technical stuff re: water and methanol useful and coincidental given what we're trying to do, nonetheless.
