on the pre 86 engines there are 2 part numbers.
1011-23-151A which is the long seal from the dual side seal engines, its like 1/2" too long
then theres 8871-23-151 which is the 79-85 rx7 seal, its much much closer in length, but its only sold thru mazda competition.
i've also heard you can get pre cut side seals for the 86+ engines, but i've never seen part numbers

Read my reply, I've gotten the short ones from my local mazda dealer before.
