I still use carbs too you ******* stick but not on my turbo rotary. Go read the context when I said that.

I think your bs has reached the point of homoginisation. I use 1600's on a port I can see my face in with absolutely no problems.

Oh your message was very clear and i'm just saying that plenty of people still use carbs. In fact I can't think of a single one of my friends with muscle cars or cars made before 1975 that are EFI. Even my friend's dad's 62 corvette is carbed and tahts a corvette!

Im putting my 2 cents in on this one bc I used to build and port heads.





You DO NOT want the intake runners "smooth", you DO want them alittle coarse for ATOMIZATION. Atomization is the key to a good running combustion engine. Like Guitarjunkie28 said you dont have to worry as much with smaller injectors bc you are using less fuel in a smaller area, however when you have larger injectors, say over 450cc, you do need to worry about your intake surface. Larger injectors tend to pool fuel anyway, so you would want a rougher surface for ATOMIZATION. If you belive this is false proove it, I have spent alot of time working on cylinder heads, not really rotaries, and this is all from persanol experience.





Say for instance I had a 1991 Acura Integra, with a B18 DOHC VTEC, we buit the bottom end, built the top with double valvespring (dont even get me lieing as to the specs I cant remember) titanium retainers, and some other crap, I left all the porting marks in the runnners AFTER the injectors and the exhaust side was smooth as glass, when the vtec engaged in first and secong gear it would bark the tires. I dont know if any of you have experience with Hondas but that is an accomplishment for NA and off the juice Hondas.

Just want to pt my input in since it is my thread, lol. We left the runners fairly course, not overkill, because this car will be out on the streets handing Corvettes, Vipers, etc... their asses, and I dont want fuel to pool in the runners when I'm sitting at a light idling. I think it would be beneficial to polish out the runners on an NA thats not using big injectors b/c its having to basically maually draw in its own intake charge, where as this motor is going to have a big ball bearing turbo stuffing air down its throat. I agree with guitarjunkie on this one.

I feel you, You do not ever want the runners smooth after the "injection", on any car wether it be na or forced induction, bc at idle na cars a forced cars produce the same amount of vacuum. Now na cars you could probably do them alittle smoother than forced but I wouldnt want to be the one testing it out.
