**** I messed it up... so I used vasoline for the motor because I had poblems getting hylomar. Anyway so I pulled it apart to fix the seals, and now the outter o ring wont fit in the groove any more.

I need new o rings... CRAP!

When you compress the stack the "O" rings are mechanically changed by being trapped in the groove while being crushed. So when you release them they are smaller hight and longer. So long that they will not fit in the groove.

I reuse the outer (balck) ring many times. Just lay it in the groove with the excess material at the top.

With a razor cut the ring on a steep angle, and lay the cut end in the groove at the top of the housing or iron.

Lay the other end on top of the cut end, and allowing an extra 1/8" cut the remaining excess off at the same angle as the first end. Put a dab of silicone on the joint and move on.

For the compression (orange black and green) ring, do the same repair, but put the joint between the intake and exhaust. Same deal, a dab of silicone and on you go.

In bridgeported engines this cut (missing piece) is much bigger to allow for the port, maybe 2 1/2", and never a problem.
