Hi Guys,
Ive did a bridgeport to my engine, in my opinion its large, i measured everything carefully to have a bridge from ca. 2,5mm wide, however that dit not completely work and my bridge now goes from 1,5mm to 3mm in which the 1.5mm is on the bottom where the sideseal passes at first. Will this be ok or should I go for a new iron?? Please help out. Regards Rogier |
If you are looking for reliability then I would get a new iron. I have seen bridges that thin but they tend to crack after a couple of hard runs.

Hi, Sorry if im confusing you, the bridge is 1,5mm wide at the start of it, than runs out to 2,5/3mm the height of the bridge is 3mm.
|
The bridge should not have a face narrower than 3 mm; reguardless of height. The thicker the structure the better it will be for reliability.

a few quick pictures of your iron would be very helpful...

haha, thought so, here it is.
I was thinking of otherwise having someon wel a little bit on the inside of th secondary intake then grinding and polishing it down again. Ofcourse the plate needs polishing |

Hi,
Oke, thats honest. Why not, and what width would you use, my plan was 2,5-3mm that worked everywhere except on the bottom..... |
You said it, it worked everywhere EXCEPT on the bottom. Use that iron and kiss your seals goodbye. You know its not gonna work, thats why you're asking us for opinions. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png -Shawn |
