he was pumping 94. Thats pretty good. He said when he took it to the track it didnt have any problems. xcept it detonated one every so long. I mean it wasnt normal or a common occurance but I understand that if it detonates even once it means you have a problem.

well if you can hear it detonating, its possible its doing it a lot more than just that once

Yeah, but I think the over-riding issue here is that 90K miles on a motor that is used hard either on the street or strip is good!



About the only way these motors last is to keep the revs down below 7000 as above that on a standard motor and the seals wear grooves in the housings, the seals wear down quicker too. Also keep boost down to less than 15psi...(even on 94 gas )



What condition were the seals in when the motor was pulled down? Are they worn worn out?

if u can hear a turbo rotary detonate then its too much detonating

check timing? sotkc computer like others said? stock intercooler?

ceramic seals wouldnt wear grooves right.
