It looks like he used a rotary tool to grind into the nitriding a bit. Am I seeing some casting flash in that port? I'm like dubya tea yeff.

WOW Banzai, I live in Portland and have bought quite a few things from Rob, and had him rebuild my transmission. He seemed to have steered me away from some stupid **** that I wanted to do. But I am not sure that I want to take it there for a rebuild, but he is right here and I am sure that I could check on my engine. But Ido's work seems awsome, what to do

My other BIG question is:



Who uses a viton O-ring with a diameter of .073" (This measurement was taken on an O-ring removed from my engine, in the inner coolant position) in a groove with the dimensions .065" deep x .145" wide?



Something does not add up in that equation: Of course I will preface this with stating that I know nothing about O-rings, I have 20 + years experieance in Nuclear Power Plant / Facility Operation Maintenance and Design. I was the Ships Quality Assurance Oficer in Charge of Nuclear Level I and III, Subsafe Quality Assurance Programs. I have designed numerous vessels to ASME Section VIII standards. Yep I know NOTHING about proper selection and installation of seals. (Sacasism INTENDED)

You guys are gonna **** if you think that banzaitoyota got ripped off.

Oh you did and I am sorry bro. all that BS with no proof.



Maybe I can help some guys and if I am wrong please correct me.

Instead of some shop saying they can mill your rotors.. many send them to Pettit

and tack on a %. I'm sure there are others like Mandeville , Downing. There are tons of machine shop here in oil patch land that have fround upon milling my rotors.So it aint that easy.

So cryo and milling you should send yourself and pay yourself so that you know that your getting what your paying for.

Remember if in the builder's back yard he doesn't want you back with problems and hassles so you probably wont get the mail order junk.

In the hydraulic field I see mostly 75-80% crush for a o-ring. 89% seems to be a bit small, did it leak/consume coolant? One thing you might want to consider is how much the o-ring deformed while it was in there over the time period. It may have shrunk a bit, I know the one I used for my oil drain flange did.
