I like option A. Just checking and giving some pics of my progress. To ME, I'm almost done. I still having do wire e6k, etc...I'm shooting for end of June.

If you really want to do it right, cut out the stud hole portion of the old pump to cover gasket and use them as the shims. All those things do is replicate the compressed gasket thickness.



I have never found a down side to not using anything. Not a factor.

Check your waterpump shaft runout while your at it. Last thing you want is to break off the front engine water pump mounting ear from an unbalanced water pump.
