I have found they become loose over time.



I tq then re tq after engine test on stand and cool down has achieved.



I also do not TQ to factory specs but that’s my process.

 

The Engine i just put back together i ran a Tap down each bolt hole in the Plate and Die over each Bolt then used Liquid lock & torqued up to 28lbs (when Assembling), Then i found a Weeping coolant seal when i Pressure tested it, i then kept going round the Bolts going up in 2lb increases until the Coolant seals where good, i ended up with 38lbs of Torque but i did go a bit over just to make sure they where good.



You can tell when the Threads are clean when you screw the Bolts in by hand they feel smooth and you can take them right down to the Plate.
