R Magic also has a lower intake manifold and rotor housing set, but theirs is stock primary ports and 2ndaries converted to peripheral port.

I had seen some where that there was a flapper door in the semi-pp intake port that I believe was boost actuated or something of the sort. The throttle body style butterflies where located in the intake manifold and where on a shaft that would go vertical in the intake manifold. On the top part of the manifold they where linked to one an other and in some way actuated effectively keeping the motor semi-pp on tap and when not needed closed off making the engine drive like stock. Just imagine the nightmare for tunning LOL you would need to switch maps to drive in each form.

never heard such thing , about the tunning part I dont see why there would be a issue for tunnig as the port timming is the same as the stock ports.

hey there lynn or anybody has anyone ever used somekind of valve to open and close the p-ports? (sort of like a 2 stroke dirt bike power valve).

could be made on a custom intake manifold.

could it work?

would it work?

has it worked in the past?

works great on my yz250

i thought about doing this. but for a semi-pp.

making a custom intake manifold is the only way to go. basically, putting throttle plates in the tubes and either manually opening them. or with a switch. kinda like exhaust cut outs use to make your car go from full exhaust to open header.

like this.

electroic one: http://www.jegs.com/i/Doug's%20Headers...DEC250/10002/-1

obviously not so big or complicated...but the same idea.

yes it can work, anything can. but is it worth it and what gain you will get. i dont know. no i havnt seen it done.

using the same thing for exhaust. so you easily go to a quiet street car. to a loud *** semi-pp beast!

thats what im thinking and i have seen it before. you have a stock to a streetported motor very mild mannered, and when it is time to have fun you flip a swicth, or pull a lever, or even up the boost to a activation set point like 10psi on reg ports 15 for the semipp activation, and unleash a beast on tap. Im going to look into this.

Can regular housings be made into semi PP ??? im thinking instead of running a half bridge to just do a large street port and run the semi PP on a custom LIM. Still have no motor yet but im looking into options in this area. Only reason im considering it ove a half bridge I need some street maners since i want A/C on my car. Yes i said i want A/C Bite Me ! ! !

what do you mean "regular housings"

but yes, you can make any housing a semi-pp housings. its the same as a full pp. just smaller holes and dont block off the plate ports.

bridge and semi PP at the same time will require a large exhaust port to be useful. with major tuning. im not saying it cant be used on the street. but it wount be easy.

post pics of the semi PP throttle set up if you do it.

doubt it will be any time soon but im going to try it out with some junk housings see what i can manage to invent as far as the manifold that is easier said than done. i dont want this project to go belly up like my FMIC kit did sometimes things dont work out.
