Semi-Valuable life lesson...

Ya, okay. So I'm bored, got nothin to do, and I suddenly remember that "hey, there's a 3rd gen on 8th street". boing.
So I cruise over there to check it out, its nice, '93 Montego Blue dunno if itsa base, R1, etc. but its still nice. I go up to the house attached to the garage its in, and knock on the door to say hi and hopefully make another rex friend here in the middle of nowhere, Oklahoma. The guy answers, doesnt say much, doesnt come outside, gives me some real funky looks, etc. I eventually walked off without getting his name or anything cuz he acted like he thought I was on acid or something.
about 20 minutes later I walk into an empty resturaunt to see if I can find the owner of the 1st gen GS in the lot. Turns out one of the cooks owns it. I say hi and compliment her car, and then wait for a response. Nothing. The waitress and the cook kinda look at each other, then look back at me like, you guessed it, I'm trippin or something. I just kinda left after that.
I'm pretty dissapointed, i mean, its Ponca City oklahoma, not even half the size of one of the suburbs of a city like Seattle, Houston, Austin, or even Tulsa for that matter. When I find a rex, I try to meet the owner and maybe add to the pathetic list of Oklahoman enthusiasts. Instead, I get treated like a freak.
I think I know why there arent more rotaries around .....b/c people like these own them. Sad. Oh well, more for me.
Sorry about the long post, its been awhile since i've posted here, and I'm bored.

I used to do that. But in a prejudice kinda way, I would only go up to ppl with first gens. But then i realised that most ppl around here that own 1st gens are ricans. And I stopped. The last thing II need is ppl to drive away with my car.
I did start again, tring to get ppl to go to this BBQ we having here in jersey, and i scared the crap out of a guy. I swear he almost jumps out the window. I was in my ghia and i had some fliers for the bbq, and i see this first gen, so i get a flier out, get out of my car and knock on the door, then i bang on the door. nothing. he was blasting some salsa and was looking behind him through the side mirror. when he finally turned around. ive never seen anyone jump so high.

I think in this day and age everybody is kind of suspicious of people that are genuinly trying to just be friendly. There are so many people that have taken advantage of others by giving the pretense of being a "friend" that its kind of ruined things for everyone. Most of those people might have thought that you were going to carjack them later. Its sad, but thats our society -and its only going to get worse.

I have alot of people stop by my house to ask about my RX-7's. I always talk to them, but you have to be careful. I figure that if I told them to f*&k off they may come back and break my windows, etc.

My apologies to anyone that finds my previous post offensive.
Since there are a few of us replying from the east here. Anyone that went to englishtown 2 weekends ago. There was a little red R100 with a tweety sticker on the back, how was it running down the strip? If you ever get a chance to see it at a race, I suggest you go check out his engine bay. its pretty neat.
anyone(vosko) got videos from that day?
