Just givin' ya a hard time man. I don't really know what to tell you...other than I'm sure it needs a rebuild if it has 170K miles on it.

The rebuild, IMO, would take care of any problems your friend had with respect to the heat issue, as long as the radiator works! But I would definitely listen to what other people have to say about this...

*edit: rotorheads, just yell at me if I'm wrong.*

if the body is in good condition and you have about $800 bucks laying around for sure rebuild it! sounds like you have the tools and space for the work...good luck

Can you get good used engines from Japan?

Down here we get turbo motors for $1000 aus and N/A for less. I'd be tempted just to chuck one of those in unless you want to learn to rebuild a rotary.

From experience, it costs 1.5-2 X more to rebuild than throw a good "import" motor in.

Oh yeah, unless you try to get your hands on a REW motor like for my S6, where rebuilding it was half the cost of a good second-hand unit!
