Hey

90 turbo rx7

Engine builder says my stock stationary gears and bearings, rotor bearings will be able to handle 400rwhp long as i dont keep it above 8500 rpm, what do you guys think? i ordered the racing beat 80psi opr and going to do the thero pellet mod not sure about the e shaft oil mod yet. Once i decided this engine is going back together

Thanks

As long as you are not mainting rpms above 8500 rpms you will be fine. Fd stationary gears are upgrade for s4 t2s. No one knows if s5 are hardened, some say yes some say no.

Theres a few more interesting things in there, And yes all 89+ gears are ion nitrited fromt he factory. Another interesting thing i have is a book from around the 70's about the motor, its shows gear loads and all kinds of interesting things about the motor, and some reasons for why mazda made things the way they did. It however is on someones FTP so i dont wish to link it directly. if your interested though, It's in this thread on the evil forum, its the document he is talking about.

They are hardened, but their bearings are inferior to fd units..
