Well, I'm building a 12a streetport and was wondering how much power i could get with this port.

Here's the port timing

IO 15 degrees ATDC

IC 65 degrees ABDC

EO 84 degrees BBDC

EC 58 degrees ATDC

This is just a guess, and a wild *** guess at that. The timing is close to a 6 port with all of the ports open. Early opening won't hurt anything. Later closing means more revs to get to the best power. Less than stock punch down low. You should be close to a 6 port whatever that was.

Picture is chassis for 95 RX-7

Sorry to thread jack, buy Lynn, what is the purpose of the "canister" on the oil fill neck in the picture you just posted?

From the looks of it, it has diagonal baffles?

Is it to keep oil from sloshing out the case vent at high G loads?

The first engine for the new car was out of a RX-2, and before that out of a junk yard. It had so much blowby it would not last 45 minutes (a race length) without running out of oil. So I built the oil separator as you see. It worked just fine and the engine held up for a few weekends of testing on the new chassis. It was then replaced with

new Daryl Drummond engine before the first race.

Thank you for noticing.

ok, well i was waiting on a pilot bearing, got it today, dropped the engine back into the car, finally got it started, but its a royal bitch to start, i have to pump the carb about 10 times before i start it and keep pumping it while turning it over for it to start.

seems to be making decent power, but had to call it a night as my neighbors weren't too happy about me starting it up at 1am.

going to be dropping on a holley here in about a week or so and i'll keep you guys posted.

and another thing, my coolant is white, now i'm going to drain it and re-fill it cause i used the water jackets to wipe off the petroleum jelly so hoping its just that.

To get the intake to open 15 degrees after TDC how far did you have to undercut the corner seal and side seal?

How far from the rotor housing does intake start to open?

How has it run so far?

I have seen smaller ported 12As run anywhere from 150 to 195rwhp completely depending on intake, tuning, exhaust and mufflers (or lack of).

o the motor is an abosolute beast. its pulled from 4-10k. and i left about 11mm between the port and edge of the rotor housing

never got it dyno'd, but i traded the engine for a "normal" streetport 13b and it is a huge drop in power. might be pulling this one apart and using the same port
