Hey Ito, if i am running a stock ecu and afm, stock injectors and pump can i still make a bridge port? or at least a half bridge? noise and pollution is of no issue, street driveability is also not very important
stock ECU will **** itself with a bridgey. period. go standalone!

with the WILD streetport I highly suggest the hurley engineering duplex sideseals are used. I've had 2 engines loose oem sideseals, with the WILDstreetport. Even after carefull attention being payed to the closing edge of the port. Hurley Enginerring sideseals are made of a seriously tough material. go to their site and read up on them. in my opinion, not worth the gamble when running a WILD streetport, on oem sideseals.

I did just so, and am curious if you feel they are necessary for the older engines with thicker side seals.

I ask, because these side seals are apparently only available for the small-seal engines.

I am curious as to how much material is left on some of you guys' monster street ports. Measuring from the inner coolant wall to where the port opens ( basically what the corner seal is riding on ) I have gone as far as .430 left and not had any problems with corner seals. I know at about .450 and less though, you need to take out the rubber plugs or use solids. Anyone else ever measured this as I am curious as to how far you can go without running into problems with the corner seal dropping in the port?

.393 (10mm) is the limit for me. The issue with removing material in the areas you mentioned is not really the corner seal, but rather the leading edge of the side seal passing over an open port.

Agree's

10.8mm is my limit, I never have problems at that range and all is verified with a sectioned rotor tip and cut off shaft to follow seal trace.

The gains going further do not balance out the negatives.

Pictures here of my street porting

Been doing this exact porting style for last 11 years and works on all cominations of seals, nothing special needs to be done over stock parts to ensure trouble free use.

hey rice, does ur exhaust port like that give them any more noticable noise with such an abrupt and early opening edge on them?

do u sell a template or sell measurements for ur ports?(obviously to be kep secret of course)

i want to do my own is all if i can.

im just about to start my porting.my plans are to follow these rules, what do u think?

* will be porting opening edge no more than 10.8-11mm from the coolant seal edge as i have stock corner seals with rubber plugs.

* not touching the inside edge at all where oil control rings are ok

* going upwards but keeping fairly right angled in upper opening corner

* keeping that same corner above closing path to protect side seal upon closing

* bevelling and smoothing close edge as much as possible to protect side seal edge as it passes corner of port.

porting the runner towards the closing corner while keeping the venturi

this seems like the basic rules.

First post! Nice forum, I'm already sold. About glass surfaces in ports and carbs: surely you wouldn't want a glass wall even with injection? Is there any positive effects for "laminar" flow in you ports?
