I'm going to honestly make an effort into making some templates. I just haven't had a chance to even leave my shop for a minute. This is basically my routine. Visit the forum in the morning(6am to 7am) open the shop, work on Rx7's untill 7pm go home tired and read the forum a bit more.

Ito-san... Can you get some pic's up of intake runners, I'd like to see how you work the bowl in the bottom of the port and how you shape the runners... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Most people don't understand this is actually more important than the size of the port...

Also there are 2 types of thinking on porting rotary engines... some people like to make the port smooth as a baby ass to increase flow and some like to leave it a little rough to help with atomization...

I personaly like to leave it a little rough to help with atimization and because I'm lazy.. lol I just wanted to get your take and your experiance on these issues since you have the ability to actually dyno your cars and I have to rely on my ass https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif dyno to determine the diffrences in power.. :bigok:

No problem Dragon. A matter of fact I have my Cosmo motor ported and almost ready to be assembled. Ill take pics of my semi-peripheral ports too :yum: this engines is a BP semi p-port combo. I like your dyno :bigthumg:

I used the racing beat templates...they dont fit very well

Dragon 12-21-2002 04:55 PM

I got the racing beat ones also, they appear to be for a FC and not a FD, but they will still work... you need to make the edges straiter... It's hard to tell how much in to the corner seal ride area your at.there.... don't go too far..

i did some of my own porting earlier this year. first time at it but seemed pretty easy. after a ride in my car, a guy in a town 35 miles away brought me his housings to do. just need time to do them. patience is a key..........and a couple layers of duct tape around the ports. after i painted the housings using the templates, i applied the fix-all wonder product to the side housings so they are protected if the die grinder decides to go for a walk and steps outside the lines https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png another guy couldn't believe that i have never done it before and didn't mess them up. his friend told me that he fu#@ed up a couple and had him quit because he was running out of housings.

oh yeah, btw, these are my side plates out of my 12A that i converted to a 13B four port. i plan on pulling the motor out of my FD soon as it hasn't ran since nov 2K1 :( . i emailed or pmed you judge asking about the templates for the FD compared to the n/a four ports and wondering if you could get me the info for purchasing the temps for the FD.

pengaru 12-23-2002 10:09 PM

is there a reason you didnt mask the sides?
