156 is like blow up engine from massive oil spraying everywhere
Ive already had one oil cooler line leaking from the 100-110 PSI I run. Actually, the word leak doesnt describe the quart of oil I lost in 15 min... I replaced it with a custom made line from a hydraulic shop. Its time to replace the other one too, its starting to leak a little.

Have you guys ever even opened up the shop manual for your cars? Geez. Look under the TD ( Technical Data ) section in the shop manuals.

Yes....very true...

FD regulators(rear) are good for 110 psi and the oil pressure control valve(front) will maintain pressure 'till 150psi !!!!!!!!!.......so no need to shim it

As far as the oil jet mod.......meant for race motors NOT daily drivers....oil consumption will be high for a daily driver...motor will get tired early from fast carbon build-up.

Hope this helped..

156 psi...that means you have a 15,600 rpm engine. You need ten pounds of oil pressure per 100 rpm after the bypass. Another stupid *** street race car myth is needing 100+ psi of oil pressure in a 8000 rpm motor.

If some is good..then more is better?....sounds like a shadetree engineer building a 383 chevy

Apex13B : The stock front bypass is 156 psi and rear regulator is 110 psi on a stock 3rd gen motor. This is straight from Mazda. But then again, Im sure you know more than Mazda as to what is best for these motors. deareating??? Is that even a word?

I am putting together my streetport S5 13B next week. it will be boosted through a 62-1. I saw that Racing Beat recommended to replace the oil jets with weber 220 jets in a high performance turbo engine. I have them ready, should I install them or not? The car will be used mostly on the street. Oh, and if it matters it will also have the Racing Beat 85 psi pressure regulator.

Regards,

Frode

Yep, use 'em. I use that same jets/regulator combination on some of the motors I build for the same purpose. It'll work fine. Just make sure you get plenty of air to the oil cooler(s).
