Who Was Influenced By Initial D?

Just out of curiousity, who was influenced by Initial D? Or did some of you first get exposed to drifting by a magazine? Or are any of you hardcore road racers that have known about using drifting as a technique in racing?

Pop culture has a huge effect. I didn't know any towns outside of my own where people raced. They all thought we were a bunch of hicks. Then the Fast and the Furious came out and every city I've been to has a racing community.

i first got into drifting 2 years ago at my first autocross, the car was induced with some oversteer into a corner, and from that point on i have been drifting.
initail D is a cool cartoon, for what it is. a cartoon. but, i love it sad to say... i do have every single episode on my computer 5 gigs! Initial D was great, then al of a sudden it became what i like to call the "2fast2furious drifters" bible. now everyone has to have a hatchi because takumi drifts it well. or i have to get a FC because Takahashi Ryosuke has one.
yea Initial D is cool, but it has also brought rice to drifting
