Those are some crazy *** looking camber/caster plates. I don't like them. It's too much of a hassle to change just one setting at a time. You have to loosen all the bolts to change the camber and be carefull about how you move the shaft in case you accidentally change the caster too. blah! Let us know how they work out for you though.

The amount of material removed from the strut top is negligable. Anything more than about 3/8" inside of the bolt doesn't do much for stiffness anyway, and since you just bolted a thick aluminum plate to it, you're still way ahead in the "no-flex" department. That little lip is nothing when you're running stiff springs.

I agree with that! The adjustment should be by two separate methods. And they ain't pretty either, but hey, they will do the job & can't argue about the price

I have fixed (but increased over stock) caster which only gets adjusted to match the sides on the radius rod. Camber I fiddle with from event to event so have 1/2 degress increments from -1 to -4 marked on the plates, which are not unlike the ones in cheers pix.

Rear toe gets a tweak depending on the event too, also on graduated adjusters. Sometimes I get a build up of the tiny errors you get when doing this by eye/string and the axis of drive moves far enough off to feel it, and then I get a all-singing all-dancing electronic alignment to reset the baseline.

Sounds like you've got a pretty hip swing band.

Got my springs in from Ground Control today.

I got 300 lb springs for the front (taking off 400# springs)

and I got 150 lb. springs in the rear (yaking off 250# springs)

We have a AutoX sunday might take it out for a run see how it feels.

I was just thinking my 60' times should drop at the strip because I will transfer weight better.
Resurrecting an old thread

Did you ever tried this setup? If so, how did you like it?

Also, I noticed that your original spring rates were too stiff for the kyb agx's. This will be one of the reasons the car wasn't as fast as it could have been. The rates that you went down to will help sheerly because the dampers will be able to control them better.

I deleted my rear sway bar and it helps because its not picking up the inside tire while I am turning

Not everyone likes this setup though.

I am trying to remember back 5 years now. LOL!!

IIRC - we swapped in the springs, and I hated them. I went back to the original springs (that I felt were too stiff) and learned how to drive.

Once I learned the car better and actually learned how to drive at the limits and find those limits, the car was unstoppable. I was setting FTD's at almost every event and if I was not FTD I was second to a stripped down Factory Five Cobra.

I started tracking the car and these heavier springs really shined then, I would never switch back now.

So I am running the original setup again and loving it. Somehow I found out Steve O'bleans was running stiffer spring than I was with great success in his FC at a national level. That made me feel better.
