Yeah drifting is cool and us drifters help each other out, we dont brag and ****, but when ricers start doing that they have huge *** egos. all it takes is a ricer with a 240 that realizes 240s can drift so they start "trying" to drift . ****.

i bet he was trying to drift on public streets in the middle of the day as well.

i don't mind people trying to drift so long as its done responsibly. i use auto-x's to learn cuz there aren't any drift events around SC that i know of and i don't know of any good drift spots to use on the roads.

At the auto-x events in my area they will disqualify you if you are drifting, and you wont be allowd to participate until the next event. Wish they would allow it, would make it easier to practice. Oh well, guess i have to save it for the track days

Yeah I was gonna say. If they catch you doing that here they kick your *** off the track for the day the first time..if you keep doing it your seasion is over. now if its just from hard driving then ok but if your trying to do it say bye bye.

last auto-x i was at there were 2 SR swapped 240's that were intentionally drifting the whole course and they didn't do anything about it so i assume it was ok. thats why i said that.

I think the problem with drifting at Autocross is that the majority of people who are there want to get a good time and if you lay down *** loads of rubber on the course then it affects their traction. Most big tracks in Japan do not allow Drifting normally....it has to be a large event such as D1 or something of that nature. If you have track time at Tskuba and start drifting they will get PISSED OFF! and ask you to stop or go home. The explanation I always get is because it messes up the track surface and is unfair to "grip" drivers. There is som truth in that so I accept it, however I think the other issue is that regular racers are going about their business and watching others drive a little and looking at times, then this "drifter" comes out and slings the *** end aoround every corner cocking up way before the apex and smoking tires into the straights.......This get everyones attention and lots of people say. Wooaahh thats cool then the "regular" folks feel challenged and get pissed off which starts bitching which inevitably brings on rules and the banning of "drift".

Keichii experienced the same things as I mentioned Drift is not allowed in alot of places in Japan.......this and money caused street drift and the creation of D1, but nowdays lots of "mini circuits" are opening and tracks are allowing drift because there is lots of money to be made. This is why I like Gymkhana because the tightness of the coures usually requires drifting techniques to even get through the course. Everyone uses side brake in our courses......if not you will loose However without an ebrake I held top time for over half the day once but that was because that particular course gave advantage to me and my car in one section where I could lay down power but in the end of the day I placed 3rd loosing to a damn 80hp hachi go!! Drift will grow and it will become easier to do on a track just be patient.
