I'm looking at an FD or FC for the future, I'm way into autocross... the FD is similar in weight aspects to my current car, so I will feel fairly at home but we're talking FWD vs RWD, i /used/ to drive a rearwheel drive, now my setup is frontwheel drive.. unfortunately.

For those who have autocrossed their FD, do you have a specific setup you enjoy? I'm not asking for your settings, but rather, which brands of struts you have found to be the best lasting and most reliable in autocross. I've had issues several time with my current car before my suspension was finished with snapping tie rods a few times till I got some better ones on the car... That's beside the point, anyway, so, Struts, Springs? Any recommendations when I get my FD? I've seen several out there, but rarely have I heard of the people locally with an FD actually TAKING it to autocross and driving it like they stole it like I plan to do. There is a difference between what "seems pretty good" and "Yes this worked great, didn't break it! Lasted long time, for the buck it has a lot of bang!"

So any opinions? I've read several topics in the forum as to specific brands, setups but not seeing any posts as to who has taken what to where (autox). So what do you like to use for autocross for springs, struts and brakes as to what has worked well for you. Once again, not asking you for settings (like if you put in camber kit what it's set to...) just what has held up good for you. I'm hard on my cars.

I have some KYB GR2 struts set up on my current car with suspension techniques springs and ceramic composite brakes with energy suspension bushings and reinforced sway bars in front and back, has anyone used any on an FD, if so, did they seem a good strut for the FD? Though, adjustable is always nice

Thanks ahead of time.

Right now my current car is classified in DSP for solo. It would be nice with the RX7 to be classified in stock for a few times but jump it up to ASP just for kicks. It gets competetive there but hey it's all about fun

considering youll be new to the fd and its handling..

imho and suggestion for you is to run the stock setup and class...

learn to drive the car in its original form before venturing further..

id opt to swap tires initially prior.. if anything ..

to start, get kumho v710s, koni's and front sway bar (1.25 inch solid from suspension technique is pretty cheap, or tri-point adjustable for like $700). that'll keep you in SS where the z06's will probably dominate. but you'll have a blast.

I think an FD with some bolt ons would run SM2. This should be the best class for the car. The main competition is boosted Miatas and C4 Vettes with some bolt ons. When I had my FD, this was the class I was preparing to run it in.
