One more thing.... For all the NA guys that post about "how do I go fast" or "should I do a turbo swap", if you're not going to buy a TII, then just hook up your NA in the suspension dept. The FC's, all of them, have excellent road race and autocross capability. I was surprised how my car was reacting yesterday and how much control I felt I had with just the shocks, springs, wheels and tires done.

Oh yeah, the Kuhmo 712's did a nice job at 38psi.... really predictable when drifting the back end out.
That is so true. You just found out what these cars were built for. 1/4 mile is fun but I bet you'll find it boring after doing the AutoX thing.

I do.

Would it be possible to take my Repu and compete in Autocross? Where can I get the rules and info for what it takes to join and compete?

If you are drifting your back end out you not going fast. Trust me. A dude in a newer tricked out mustang was drifting one turn for kicks and he was definately going slower than a car going around it like it was on a rail.

Try lowering the pressure on those kumhos. Those high pressures are good for FWD cars you will probably do better with the rears around 28 and fronts at 30. For starters anyway.

I made the mistake when I was racong with my Toyo Proxes of running 40 lbs. I wasn't getting very good traction. I dropped the pressure down and it handled a lot better.

Matt (my bro) is running in CSP also. He is doing well. You are allowed a full exhaust. Matt is going to swap in a series 5 n/a engine soon and get it dyno'd with tII injectors and a S-AFC in it.

You can run w/ the integras trust me.
I definitely wasn't going fast enough but I was steering like I was having an attack or something too... all twitchy and ****. I was so damn worried about hitting the cones, I grannied it around the track like you wouldnt believe the first 3 runs...

Everyone I talked to including the TII guy kept saying get your tire pressure up... it started damp and dried out, not sure if that matters... what power will the injectors and AFC give your brother do you think?

you can run just about any car that will pass tech. I dont see a class for your car in my rule book but just check out www.scca.org under Solo II

You can go to this forum and ask there is a specific forum for classing cars.

http://sccaforums.com/

As far as the tire pressure goes. Do the shoe polish on the edge of the sidewall trick. Put some by the thread and onto the sidewall. If you scrub some off of the sidewall to little pressure. If you are 1/4" to 1/2" or more from the edge of the tread of the tire too much pressure.

I use a pyrometer and take temp reading across the tire. If the middle is hotter too much. If the edges are hotter too little.

This place in West Palm Beach FL. called Japtrix claims they dyno'd a N/A with this setup and got him 25 more RWHP.

Pic of my car winning last event. I beat a Viper GTS this day. I thought this was a cool pic though. I love B&W pics of cars.

ive found my less eventful runs...

without drift or hearing the tires...have been the quicker times...

ive learned to look at the path ahead...not the path right in front of you...

it allows for better line work...

nice pics guys... I'm going again next sunday so I'll definitely take the advice... I think one thing that tells me I'm not driving hard enough or fast enough is the fact that I didnt spin out once or take out a single cone the whole day, guess you have to know where your limits are so I'll find out next time!

I'll try to post pics

later
