With that pump (assuming you bought the pump from the DIY instructions) you'll be pumping the same volume of water at 3000 rpms as at redline. I can't imagine it would hurt the engine...

I have redlined mine plenty since install with no problems. I am running a 1.9 gph nozzle I believe, FYI. (Went small so that my 1 quart windshield washer container would last through a whole 20 minute track session.)
wow 1.9, mine is 6.2 GPH. LOL. That was the small one too! I do have the pump from the instructions, but I have a 3 gallon tank that fits in my spare tire well perfectly.

I guess I should redline 3rd gear and see what happens

I'm a mega-big fan of the science involved in this. I'll be switching to water injection very soon myself as I want to break 500rwhp on pump gas and street plugs sometime this year. I believe water or water/alcohol injection is the key.

Anybody have a chart handy that shows the differences in Specific Heat Index (heat absorption) for water, different fuels, alcohol, etc. as compared to air? That'd be handy.

Didn't feel like mounting a big tank in the passenger compartment, so I just went with a smaller nozzle. Just looking for a little more reliability with little work. I'm lazy. Besides, I'd like to keep the spare, and throwing my track wheels/tires in the car leaves little room for anything at all much less a 3 gallon tank of water.

Maybe it will get upgraded this winter when I am bored and want to work on the car...
