Are you talking about a square section "O" ring? Or, something else? Is there a hyperlink to a site?

Took a pic of the quad ring I used in the front cover.

i haven't had any problems on the s5+ motors, but i always use a furniture finishing washer with an o-ring tucked inside for s4's.

on s4's i don't use a front cover gasket. DON'T, under any circumstances, use the atkins front cover gasket. i used that on the very first rebuild i ever did and popped the o-ring out with haste. i called them up and they're like oh yea, don't use the front cover gasket... i'm not even gonna ask why they sell it if they don't recommend using it.

anyhoo, the renny gaskets have been working fine. i've been using them for about a year and a half with zero leaks and zero failures. only thing i do different now is i'm a bit lazy. i used to cut out the section for the o-ring and washer, now i just slap the gasket on and call it good. gives little more preload.

on the renny's, it's all flush and just the gasket goes in between with its tiny cruchable section. why they didn't do that 20+ years ago is beyond me.
