Get better tires...
ok thank's the gear in the rear end is a 3.90 i have a set of 4.77 gear just sitting around.what if i put the 4.77 gear on and put some slick on there to
definitely go with the 4.77 and step up to a better tire. At least Mickey thompson street racing compound tires. Which model engine is it, what timing, what year transmission, what clutch setup. As you can tell there are a thousand questions. The most important being... At what RPM are you leaving the line?
Im turning 10.117 at the 1/8mile with a 12a. Tires are going to help a bunch. Im running a pair of old Grand am's on the back. What you could try is go to jegs or summit and order there air/fuel gauge and sensor set up. It was key for me to get the stock carb and intake running properly. It saved me a ton of pulls on the dyno.
