Do more blades necessarily mean more air flow? They don't seem as thick as the oem blades. Would it indeed be a marked improvement?

With more blades, at the same RMP it would seem logical that more air would flow... However I don't really know.. It may just be how much surface area is used on the blades (and I do think more area is covered with the 7 blade fan than with the stock 5 blade that I replaced it with.) The blade thickness on the 5 blade fan is the same as the stock 5 blade fan I replaced it with (Hence me saying that I could have just got the 7 blade fan and moved the stock 5 blade fan where the 4 blade was.. )

I like the black blades.. Call me crazy but I like it. haha

I guess we'll see if they work when I fire this bitch up.

I *MAY* do some testing between the temp with both sets of fans, as it's a relatively easy swap. Then we will have a little to work with as to whether or not they are worth the work.

Thanks for the package, JT. I'll get some more data soon and will post it here. Soon as I do some resizing, I'll post more pics too.

I think the asymmetrical fan blades are to keep some type of funky resonance from occurring.

Mazda Engineers got together and figured out that the fans don't flow enough, and the fan motors draw too much current(25 amps). With the Spirit R, they redesigned the fans for 5 and 7 blades because they flow more air(mazda testing) and made the motors draw less current(17 amps). I'm not sure HOW much air flow they pull, but they figured it would be worth it to do.

So are these jt-fan blades actually Spirit R fan blades, or are they just inspired by Spirit R fan blades
