OK, it's time to start tuning my FD.

So the first thing to do i think is to replace the intercooler

i was oriented in getting a stock mount IC but they are all so small!

On the other side getting a front mount there's too much to work, expecially i really don't want to cut here and there (i got the APexi FMIC instruction manual, and it says to cut something on the chassis), i freeze if i think about cutting something on the chassis of my '7!

i saw that the M2 large IC mount in the stock location (but i don't know what exactly i have to do to install it) and obviously i have to get the M2 Airbox (really great, but expensive!) and also the M2 is really expensive...

what kind of IC do you have?

what did you had to do to install it?

thanx a lot!!

PS: consider the fact that i have to do all by myself!

Long Term Goals

That's what you need to think of when buying an intercooler.

If you plan on going to a single turbo down the road... Don't buy a puny-*** SMIC. A M2 Large is great, however I personally think it's a bit of overkill for stock twins... Even at 12 or so psi..

Just get a M2 Medium and water injection... Then you're good across the board!

M2 says to remove air pump for its medium IC

i think this must be true also for the large one

are the SMIC so bad (blitz or Greddy)???

what do you guys suggest??

i repeat:

no welding

no cutting

complete bolt on kit and possibility to get original IC and all other stuff back on when selling car

possiblity use of stock airbox (i really don't like those Apexi/HKS/Greddy hot air suckers) or M2 type

compatibility with Koyo radiator

Anyone ever do an air to water in their FD. I am looking into that over any stock mount IC

Ray from PFS has a ice water/intercooler. It's pretty neat!

. This intercooler would be good if you have a hood scoop. No cutting up or anything....probably just a little drilling. It's a little hard to find though since it's discontinued. Good luck on looking for the right IC for you.

I have stock twins, m2 air box, downpipe, greddy cat-back, fluidyne radiator, and i want to get an IC next. I was wondering what the difference, if any, will be if i get an M2 large intercooler instead of an M2 medium intercooler, or will the medium give me the same increase in performance?

Also, how hard is it to trim the mounting tab of a competition radiator when i install one of these?
