Ok the fuel cell I have uses 2 feed ports in the sump and 2 ret. ports on top. My question is can I use the second fuel feed port as a fuel ret.? this is a link to the cell I'm using. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku

You can indeed. The returned fuel will be returning right beside fuel about to be used, but there should be little temp difference because of that. Why three return lines?

The turn over line is the vent and generally ends up mounted firmly below the level of the cell can with a very light one way valve connected in the end. A PCV valve from a large American car works well. I know this never happens, but should the car become inverted, The agitation will pressurize the cell and the one wayPCV valve will prevent fuel loss. (the object of the fuel cell).

There may be a one way vent in the center of the filler cap.

I wouldn't use the port in the sump for a fuel return. The return line would need to push fuel into the tank under pressure since you're trying to pack it in from the bottom of the tank. You really don't want that kind of restriction in the return line. If you're not going to use the dual feeds of the sump simply cap one of the outlets and use the port in the top for your return. Most of those cells come with roll over valves. If this one does make sure you use the proper port for the vent.

Thanks for the input, we did some thinking and planning out...we are going to cap the second one and set it up with the ret. using the top port. and the other port on top for the vent.
