Cusco offers 1way, 1.5way, and 2way in using two different mechanisms (RS and MZ), making for 6 different types of clutch-type LSDs. The RS LSDs are spring-loaded which preload the clutch plates. MZ LSDs using conical side plates to preload the plates. I haven't driven both so I can't offer a comparison, but I'm currently using an MZ on my AE86 which locks up VERY quickly. If I make a right turn from a stop, I can feel it try to lock up about an quarter of the way into the turn. Same with making U-turns. It's kind of a hassle some times with the shuddering it produces at low speeds, but it sure is a whole lot of fun nudging the car on the teetering point between neutral handling and oversteer. Very nice quality as well.

Cusco---ok

Kaaz----I like it

Stock-----Just fine for me (for now)

I wouldnt say ANY are ANY stronger then the others. Just who said what said he said she said sort of thing. Kaaz are WAYYYYYYYY more popular with drifters in Silvias, and 180s here though for a fact.

No drifitng for me, just road course and drag. Without a doubt, all the aftermarket units from Cusco and KAAZ are of a stronger design. The torsen is nowhere near as tough as a cone/plate setup. This is why many run the 2nd gen differential.
