Some people buy a car for more than the HP number. And then some people drive f bodies...

have you ever drivin an 4th gen fbody...they handle surprisingly well and were cheap, not to mention the power. Some people buy over priced pig of a car because they are a brand loyalist. Its funny..that car weighs more than my car.... and my car is supposed to be a pig/gas guzzler.

chevy and dodge don't compare to the STI, EVO or MS6 unless you take price into consideration... they american tuner cars are cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

The MS6 is a great car for the sport enthused mazda owner, but will not keep up with the new STI or EVO.

I personally don't like the MS6 only due to the size, it's too much like a camry (minus the sports car part) for me..

Mazda claims they did not make the car to compete with the STI or the EVO, both of which to me look like a 19 year old kid took a econo box and went crazy with his dad's credit card to tune it.

The Mazda 6 is intended to be a sports sedan, once you drive one they really are not that big.

Just dont know what market they are shooting for with the car? I guess its for the everyday person who might also have a family who does not want to drive some small crude car and wants a little more power then your everyday sedan.

Only problem is the new Camry is going to be pushing 260+hp and they have restyled it to where it is not boring anymore, so any sales they were expecting to ****** from the #1 selling car might have been knocked down a bit. I would go so far as to say the aftermarket companies are going to be going crazy with the new camry, I bet they flood the SEMA shows with them.

Sat in one, it was very nicely laid out. And the TMIC looked yummy also!!

And for the price, I also would consider a Evo IX or STI. Just depends on other costs such as maintenance, depreciation values, and insurance costs. Also safety ratings, which they have probably not released yet.

EDIT: http://www.autoblog.com/2006/02/13/mazda3-...ebut-in-geneva/

mazdaspeed3 to debut in geneva. I like it!

thatd be me rob..

id have picked it up initially khris... already have the sixS...

attempted to get the speedsix last year but the trade value was seriously low..

low enough that the cost of money lost on the trade equates to headers and supercharger for the current six..

not to mention..ive got some mods that wouldnt be recuped... shes also 350lbs lighter than the speed...

considering she did well in her class in autox last year... only placing second right behind another six..

hard to justify the speedsix.. and the current issues theyre havin.. plus the premium fuel requirement..

What issues are they having and where can I find out more? One of my friends at work is seriously considering one.

Hey AMP u have mazda 6? What year and auto or manual? I thinking of speed6 because it have potential to make 300 barrier range which is what I am looking for, I also was looking at the G35x Sedan which is awsome imo.

I think that it would be a great DD but I haven't driven or even seen one up close. Mississippi dealerships don't get sports cars.

This has been mentioned once, but I'll mention it again. The MS3 is going into production. Yay LSD, boo FWD. But the MS3 couldn't really justify AWD for it's target market. If you toss in the extra cost, you're going to approach EVO/STI costs, and they want to steer clear of that.

As for the MS6, I think it's a great car. I think they could've used the Duratec30 instead of that 2.3l with a turbo to push out more ponies (I drive a Taurus; some models have the same 'tec30 under the hood), but that's just wishful thinking, because then we'd have everyone over at the TCCA forums waiting for them to come out so we could steal their turbos and bolt them onto our motors.

Unfortunately, I think the MS6 is going to fade like the MSProtoge. I've heard rumors of the Legacy STI bring brought to US soil, and that (imho) would blow the MS6 away. Subaru is already known for their great AWD, and the Legacy STI has the same motor as the WRX STI I think.

It's a great dream, but I wouldn't consider buying one, but that may just be because I think that the car would need a bit of a diet first (it's almost 3600lbs stock).
