Did Toyota ever make a V6 model? In the January issue of Turbo magazine they do some dyno testing with supercharging and turbocharging a 1jz maybe? The engine code escapes me...
Not to be a dick or anything Dysfnction, but the 1JZ and 2JZ engines are inline 6's, not V6 arrangement. Just wanted to clarify. I think that the 1JZ like I have in my RHD MKIII Supra would do well in the second gen MR2 if it would fit. The engine is reliable and has decent low end pull. I just hate the fact that I am using a Supra as my DD since I love my 7's so much. At least it's a Targa so when the weather is nice here on the island I can go "topless." I'm really thinking about trying to custom do a targa on my TII. I think it would look GREAT. We'll see what happens though.

well not to be a dick or anything , but you are dumb and wrong

first the 1 and 2jz are inline 6 you are correct....

you have a RHD MKIII supra = WOW who cares?

your RHD MKIII Supra engine would not fit in the car first of all, second of all it has a RWD tranny, meaning not only will the engine not fit but neither will the tranny.... MR2 operate on a FWD tranny in a MR setup = RWD

and do not targa your TII ....... they didnt make RX-7s targa because they didnt design it to be faggy

Freestyle, if you want to be a dick then fine. But don't be an ignorant dick. I know very well that the 1 or 2JZ won't work due to the tranny. However, there are ways around that. And if you read you would see that I said "if the engine would fit." I guess you were too busy thinking up your comment. As for the targa TII idea, it wasn't something that I care what anyone else thinks. It seems nice to me. Plus, it's only an FC that I'd be cutting on. Not like it would be my FD. FC's are cheap enough that experiments like that are fine. Wether or not you like the idea of a targa TII doesn't make a difference to me. I thought this forum was supposed to be ******* free? If you want to act like a fool then go back and talk **** to me on the "other" forum.

this is so sad. well ... the so-called snap-oversteer issue really ticks me off sometimes. i see so many people talking about the MR2's being "dangerous cars" and they are no more dangerous than an Rx-7. it's just that you have these fools that think they are Michael Shumacher going out and getting MR2's and spinning them by being stupid, then you get this crap about them being dangerous.

newsflash! mid-engined, rear-drive car: not very easy to break loose, but once it breaks loose, they are harder to correct - rather, your stupid-*** should know what you're doing to correct it before you go out there trying to be a hero.

i've been driving my MR2 for the last 5 years and i've kept my powerslide escapades to a minimum, but ... i've NEVER lost it. why? because i try to make sure i only get into situations i'm fairly sure i can control - unlike most of the guys i hear about losing it in their MR2's. i've lost it in my Rx-7's several times. are they dangerous? no, i was just dumb or not good enough in the situations. it's that simple ... but i went and made sure i learned what to do to make myself better. i think people just over-estimate their abilities and when they roll the dice and crap out, they blame anything and everything but themselves.

my 2 cents

by the way ... i still own my MR2T and my Rx-7 and i have no intentions of giving either up anytime soon. also, i consider my Rx-7 to be reliable, but my MR2T, is by far, the most reliable car i've ever owned.

Thanks for posting. I've lost traction of the rear in the 7 quite a bit in the rain and it is not hard to keep control if the right technique is used. I was kind of wondering if the people who spin the 2's have no driving experience or something.

Can I drive your 2? Ah nevermind. I can hardly afford gas for my 7 as it is.

A lot of what you said was true. The people who say they are dangerous are just like that guy with the G2 integra that "lost it" mis-shifting into 2nd from 3rd and then blamed the short shifter!! LOL.

88integrals...they rock. You can afford one! I know you can, cause if you can't get a MKII T, you can get a MKII NA, if not then MKI SC, if not then MKI NA...all are fun cars...simply for the setup, not necessarily the power....

Diobolical: You have an MKII-T and an FD? That rox! I had an MKII Turbo and a MKI Na,...and soon will have an FD...and buying another Mr2 (MKII NA? MKII turbo? We'll see...)

Very nice.
