Okay how about a Mazda Rotary mated to a Subaru Transaxle with 4WD? The Tunnel would only have to be big enough to fit the drivelive running to the rear diff you would have to add. You could keep it FWD and add the RWD at any time.

Kinda a poor mans WRX

hahaha now that is an interesting thought....

may have to look into that! lol

Kennedy Engineered sells the adapters/flywheel and clutches to do the mating. The Subaru Trans will give you equal length front drivelines which will help to eliminate torque steer.

You then just need to do something about the rearend. But could do that after the car is running with FWD... Ya it would be cool.

really???

hhmmm....

the rearend may not be a huge problem... since Rotary's dont develop the kind of torque a V8 does I can probably fit in a 7.5 rear end out of a Ford in the back. Would have to figure out rear gearing. But that may not be so hard.... the car kind of has a tunnel right now. decent sized almost big enough for a T5 tranny....

Well I think it is pretty cool looking. The side skirts really do the car justice. I think it would be pretty awesome with a 13bt stuffed in there.

Twin89Stangs 07-01-2002 11:30 AM

that would be pretty damn sweet..... lol or a 13bt awd!

Hey all, wooffinn here. On a technical note stangs, the tunnel is that size because the Japanese version of the Cordia[the Decelia I think was it's name] on their domestic market actually ran a 4wd model. It ran the dash motor[starion eng with jet valves] and a small T27 turbo i believe. As we speak, a friend and I are experimenting with a early 323 FWD rotary concept car but it's **** load of febricating, belting with big hammers etc.!!

An old friend used to have a cordia with a highly modifed 2.0l[I think your 1.9 is basically the same engine] with all the usual turbo/intercooler mods. It ran flat 13's but he could drive greasy stick up a dead dogs bum, so I'm sure there was quicker times! Unfortunately it met a timbery death one night. :P

well I still havent decided on the drivetrain for this Cordia yet... got some considering to do...
