We are misimg the engine manufacturers point here. The big displacement engines are designed to push heavy cars that requires lots of torque. Just imagine your RX7 with a V8 it won't be proper because the engine is to heavy for a small car. Although the older RX7 are capable of such engine swap you can hardly see any of them running single digits. The engine and the car has to equaly proportion. Imagine a Trans- Am with a 4 cylider engine it would not be proper for the car balance.

I'll tell you what, show me where there's been a real advance in the Chevy 350 in the last 25 or so year's, beside's stepping up to efi, and you'll prove me wrong.
The chevy 350 is a strong engine. Like you said the EFI technology has given the V8 lots of advantages. The computer tunning of the cars. It's easier to tune a V8 with the EFI than the carburated V8. Their are lots of DOHC & SOHC V8 and these are not pushrods.

You know the funny thing is a carburated V8 (pushrod) is capable of running 6's way back before some of us were born & I am talking about N/A V8. WOW some $hitty technology huh!!! Let me see a small displacement running that low with out a poweradder Oh wait let me think Oh there is none!! What 30psi of boost to get 500-600HP that's a joke. Chevy 534ci 700+HP N/A yeah it's a pushrod. A pushrod that will run single digits and eat up lots of your high tech cars. Your Grandpa's technology is still kicking some A$$ at the track today

It depend's on the size of turbo used. Again, you just proved my point of most V8 driver's big headed ethic's. I NEVER said a V8 couldn't make power, and make big power at that. I said the TECHNOLOGY IS ANCIENT on MOST V8'S.

Imagine a Trans- Am with a 4 cylider engine it would not be proper for the car balance.
Since when have people with muscle car's and big block's been worried about "proper balance"? Hahahaha, your a loss cause man, I proved my point, and you, well, you talked in a circle.

Ok, the LS1 and LS6 used in the last F Bodies and Corvettes are newly designed engines. Completely different architecture. That was 1997. 5.7 Liters 350HP and 405 HP stock

And...... It's still an overhead valve pushrod engine. Here's a comparison of what's considered "old Japanese technology" VS "New domestic technology. Since HP keep's coming up

2003 Chevrolet Corvette 50th Ann.5.7liter V8 350hp

1993 Toyota Supra TT 3.0liter IL6 320hp

--------Suspension

600ft slalom: Corvette-62.4mph

Supra-65.4mph

Skidpad g: Corvette-0.89 For reference the Z06 pulls 0.97

Supra-0.98

The Supra also beat's the C5 down in braking from 60 and 80.

#s were taken from Road & Track

Have you ever heard of a ZR1 Corvette's or the ZO6. They have better performance & handling compared to C5. For every one fast Supra or whatever High Tech cars You want there are at Least 100 V8 carburated engine that will spank it at the track. Oh yeah it's a Dinosaur Technology alright that's why it will step all over you and eat you for lunch. What you are gonna talk about the gas mileage now. This is the only way you can win.

OH yeah! This is new flash for you GM & Ford use 4 & 6 & inline 6 engines back then. They even have Turbo Mustang & Trans-Am.

They even made these cars run single digits before your High Tech cars were born. Yeah Domestic Technology is POS!! I guess you were right they can't compete against your high tech cars. Have you been watching too much F&F lately.

I'll tell you what teen beat, when I see you beat me at the track, dragstrip or roadcourse, your word's will carry some weight. And the only newsflash here, is how your 14yr old *** assumes you know what your talking about.

I'd be willing to put $1,000 on the line, that no stock ZR-1 or Z06 would touch my car in the quater mile. Another thoughtless comment on your part. Keep playing Gran Turismo jr.

well, thats ******* great. you modded your car to beat a stock car that has 'dinosaur' technology? the zr1 has a 5.7L DOHC engine anyways, not pushrod.

out of curiousity, what does your mr2 run? i've seen a bone stock, and i mean exactly as it left the factory, z06 run 12.45

You think DOHC is high tech? They've been around since the 1920s. Alfa Romeo and other manufacturers
