Care to explain how Recaro seats, Brembo brakes, Momo steering wheel and pedals, etc, makes something an econo-box?

exactly except the kids with credit are recent college grads who have owned many a honda and knew what the people here would want.. even if the aftermarket additions improve nothing, the car will sell because of the name on the part.

The fact that the Evo is basically a fancy $16,000 Lancer, you pay $32000 for a car that looks like a kid with a good credit line built it from a catalog.

I don't know about over in the US but out here WRX's are like bums, Everybody has one!! Which in my view makes them less appealing. They are as common as dogshit. In terms of price and what they can do they are a bargain but I would prefer to stand out from the crowd and drive something a little out of the ordinary!!

I wouldnt buy either of them anyhow for $32000.

I guess, as long as all you're concerned with is the appearance of the car. Of course, if you like performance, you're paying $30k for a lot more than what you can order in a catalog, unless you're aware of a Lancer supplier selling a stiffened chassis, new body design, AWD tranny and drivetrain, turbo motor, etc.
a Lancer chassis, added a bar in the trunk and you lost the fold down seats
Am I concerned with the appearance? For $32,000- Yes I am, thats why I would take a Inifinty coupe or a 350Z. But thats just me.
