I'm confused - over here NSX's have a reputation for being fast! maybe there's a similar situation to the old BMW M3 with America getting a slower version? I know the Acura version weighs a bit more.

I work at an Acura dealership, and the word here is the HSC is three years out. The NSX is a great car. No one will say it is the fastest car out there, but is still a supurb handeling car, that looks awesome, without the high price maintence. I would personally opt for a used one, unless I had all the dough. And our mechanics here can work an NSX. We have a supercharged NSX with carbon fiber body panels, that is a top SCCA contender, and has been featured in many Comptech ads. I don't know if I'd let them work on my FD though.

[quote name='jackboots' date='Jul 15 2005, 10:54 AM']You can find a pre-owned, low-mile NSX for around $25-$35k, which really isn't bad.

Still, if I were to invest $25k into my FC......

[quote name='sweet7' date='Jul 15 2005, 02:44 AM']I agree, althought the NSX does have a few redeeming qualities.

Yeah Honda engine development from auto racing, too bad it isn't a straight across swap to the NSX, then we might be talking about a hot car, not a mediocre turd.

I've thought about buying like a 91-92 to play with. Still looks damn good, would do well in stock form at AUTOX and what not. Always room for modifying it if you can afford it. And you have a wonderful, low maintance Honda engine screaming behind you're head. Also like CS FD said, the Honda/Acura guys can work on 'em. The car definately isnt worth $100k new, but $20-$25k for a used one isnt that bad for what you get. And for some odd reason a quote for insurance on the NSX was cheaper than my FD at the time. *shrugs*
