I would rather prefer the LSVTEC cause #1 its been know to handle alot more Psi of boost than anyother Honda Engine #2 it weighs alot less than a B20. I rather not Nose Dive when im flying on a B20 EK and #3 because LSVTEC would be better track cars than heavy B20's. B20's would be more like Drag cars! BTW you seem to have a lot of insight on these cars. Im really impressed. I only know about Honda engines(Racing Latino's Little bro here) but my brother (racing latino) is a Rotar Freak thats why we ask these questions here. Thanks for the insight bro!

So a final question! will a LSVTEC with Intake and Exhaust beat a T2 7 with no exhaust and no A/C?

a s5 t2 will put alot more power than an lsvtec with exhaust and intake. It will come down to weight ... i mean, if its tossed in a stripped 89 crx or something im sure it would be kinda close. But I would put my money on the t2. I ran a 14.5 completely stock with my s5 t2, take off cats, and ac and youre looking at a rather large increase in power. exhuast alone is worth about 4-5 psi .. which equates to a dyno proven 59 some odd whp, AC really wont add alot, but it helps. An ls engine with say a gsr head/vtec is going to make somewhere around 170 to the wheels at max. If thats all thats done to the engine. A friend of mine (on the forum iluvmy88) raced a civic with either a gsr or lsvtec (almost the same thing)

he was running mid 14's, vs the rx7 with a fmic, exhaust, a bad clutch and a engine about to blow.. hehe.. which ran 13.2 before the clutch about completely gave out. Im not sure what else was done to the civic, but it did sound nice ... must say.

So again, if its not a car that weighs like 1700lbs or something, I would put my money on the t2. Traction issues are always bad with fwd when you actually put some power to the wheels.

Ummmmmmmm... LS VTEC is not stock. That's what we call a "legend" motor around here. You can't just go buy one. It's a built motor. My friend has an LS VTEC hatch that he built himself and that car is mind blowingly fast for what it's got done. However a stock TII should deffinetely give it a good race.

My vote's on the TII, but don't be surprised if he gives you a good run.

The B20 is definatly not faster. Why because its a Honda CR-V Engine! SUV's arnt made to go fast. Theyre made to pull hard! Maybe if u mess with the B20 alot u can ultimatly go faster but stock the B18 is alot faster. I've ran against a B20 Integra with the big 3 i/h/e and he took me by 1 1/2 cars<--- not th rx-7 and i ran against a LS integra with i/h/e downpipe uppipe chip VTEC controll and he beat me by a gang of cars. The thing is the B20 has a little bit more torque than a LS cause its a SUV engine. The LS engine has tons of torque but more top speed cause its a smaller car engine! get the diffrence? IMO i think a LSVTEC with all minor mods and some major work like port polish could definatly take on a T2 7
An engines horsepower is it's ability to do work over time. It's the trany the defines how fast a car will be in 1/4 mile or whether it'll tow more weight.

For example... My dad's 5.7 350 in his truck is not that fast but great for towing.

Throw that same motor with the right tranny and you have God speed that wont tow a dingy.

Just because the motor was built for a CRV doesn't mean it wont haul *** in a hatch with a civic tranny bolted on to it.

when i say stock ls/vtec i mean taking a stock ls motor and putting a vtec head on it/cams on it. A "built" b18 series engine to me is actually BUILT. And I also retract what I said about my friends b20 in his car. He has the b20 still but ended up using a b18 bored to the same size as the b20. They are both built engines and identical... but technically hes using a b18 this time.
