99 hatches are heavier then the old bubblebacks so i dunno the power-weight deal with them, i could race a couple LS vtecs (all shapes and sizes have the swap at my school) but my 89 t2 is far from stock...

Hmmm...you have a link to my website in your sig...that's a first. I'll send you a bill for the bandwidth. j/k

I raced a CRX with an LS swap and a 100 shot in my mildly modded '87 TII, and if he hadn't been smoking the tires with every 1-2 shift, he wouldn't have lost so badly. It'll be a close race...

here is a video of me vs a b20 vtec all motor hatch back. After i beat him that time he came back next week with a 100 shot... and beat me I was also shifting pretty early.

A really good friend of mine also owns a crx with a b20 vtec turbo .. he dynod at a little over 350 to the wheels. Thing could NOT get traction in any gear at 11lbs of boost. So he made a cute little toggle switch for low boost ... haha.. worked out well. He ran 5lbs 1st and 2nd .. then hit the switch to 11lbs, and would take off VERY fast. It was a great car... then it blew up when he upped the boost a little.. haha. So he built it again, only this time with stronger everything. Right now hes running an LS non vtec engine in the crx untill he finishes his twin turbo (experimental) setup for the new b20. And i must say, even in such a lite car, the ls engine is pretty damn slow.. vtec would make it faster but not much. If youre a stock t2, you might have trouble.. stock t2's arent that fast. I also know another guy with a hatch lsvtec built up. He was pretty quick, but he was also running a 75 shot. He also blew up his engine one night after using nitrous 5 times in a row .. right after one another. It melted a piston head.. looked pretty funny.

but again, to give you an idea.. this is a fully built b20 all motor civic hatch back with a gutted interior ... however he did have 18" wheels.. lol

movie here

The B20 is definatly not faster. Why because its a Honda CR-V Engine! SUV's arnt made to go fast. Theyre made to pull hard! Maybe if u mess with the B20 alot u can ultimatly go faster but stock the B18 is alot faster. I've ran against a B20 Integra with the big 3 i/h/e and he took me by 1 1/2 cars<--- not th rx-7 and i ran against a LS integra with i/h/e downpipe uppipe chip VTEC controll and he beat me by a gang of cars. The thing is the B20 has a little bit more torque than a LS cause its a SUV engine. The LS engine has tons of torque but more top speed cause its a smaller car engine! get the diffrence? IMO i think a LSVTEC with all minor mods and some major work like port polish could definatly take on a T2 7

dude, im not talking about a stock b20. They are built b20's 1 is built for NA, the other is built for turbo ... believe me, the b20 is faster. You have to understand that what I said comes from personal experience not only driving them, but racing and dyno. The ls engine can make alot of power, dont get me wrong. But a b20 uses more displacement, and is capable of more power and more torque. With the lsvtec t3/4 engine ive witnessed him blast by vipers on freeway runs and drag runs. He was only making 330 to the wheels. That was a heavily built ls. The b20 vtec single turbo is even faster with more power. Then it blew up before it hit the dyno. It has since been rebuilt with much stronger sleeves (that was the down fall of the engine) and is looking to make around 400+ to the wheels. As of right now hes trying an experiment with twin turbos on it, for fun. When he gets the single on, i will show you some numbers. And tomorrow we are taking the b20 to the dyno in NA form. So I will show you NA and turbo for the b20.
