[quote name='inanimate_object' date='Jul 31 2005, 12:41 PM']Why not? You can walk in to radical and order a car the same as any porsche etc. What's the definition of a "production car"?

Generally it's defined by production numbers per year. Aussie Supercar requires at least 500 to be made for homologation, NASCAR (stupid *****) require 2000 per year. Some race classes require that they are commercially available from a certain number of dealers and that there is a stock of cars ready for purchase at any given time, in other words, that they don't just build one after you order it.
So there's no set definition of "production car", but I think what they meant by it in this case is that it's a commercially available showroom stock vehicle intended for legal street use. Maybe......

That's what I mean, I'd imagine Radical sr3's easily sell in enough numbers to qualify as production cars, they're sold as fully fledged road cars, and every article I read about the one that lapped the Nurburgring said it's the new production car record holder.

[quote name='nopistons94' date='Jul 31 2005, 10:26 PM']radical doesn't make it a production car thus it's not a production car. Not really much to it other than it's not produced enough to be considered one.

None of that made sense to me. I tried to find what info I could on this, in their first year of existence radical produced 300 cars, and they've been making them for 3 years now and are far more popular now, so I presume they are up to production car levels - I doubt Pagani have sold more Zondas and I presume they qualify?

I dont believe the Radical is a streetable car. Its a race car for on track use only, at least the ones I've seen.
The C 6 Z06 will be a "radical" departure from the slightly modified C 5 Z06 production model in that there are Major changes to the frame, CF body panels in places and other trick stuff I cant remember.
