i just drove a 71 mercedes 280sel 4.5, thats a car!, sorry it was a 3.5! i wonder what the 4.5 is like

firstly, its 30years old and its original, never been redone.

second, its smooth and quiet

third and most importantly, its fast. its got a 4.5litre injected v8, and a 4 speed auto. it seriously feels like its fd fast, mid 14's, and they handle well too.

Driving my FD home for the first time was very memorable. So many crazy things happened as a result of that car. It was certainly the fasted car I had ever been in after I was done modding it. Although driving my mini cooper home from Fla. to NC. was probably even more memorable. I met a lot of people on that trip from all the attention it drew. Recently found figures that showed there were 65k of the Rover Sportpacks produced out of the 2 million mini's produced. Very few have been imported due to legal reasons. From what I understand I also own the only austin pickup in Oklahoma, so its kinda cool to have too. Only 58k produced from 60 to 83, and there's only a few hundred in the States that are actual trucks and not chopped vans.

89 Nicolotto Ferrai f40: uprated cams, 2 KKK k30 turbos, motec m880 ETC.....890hp 750 ft-lbs. I was a a bit over my head. (Customer's car) The car would literally "squirt" from 60 to 145-150 in about 2-3 seconds. Then you went up to 4th and did 160-170 and it would laugh at you.

70 chevelle, Powerglide 2spd Dart/Brodix 555 cui big block, all the goodies controlled by a M48 motec......... 900 ft-lbs that went up in smoke (tire) abfuckinsurd torque. you really have to drive a car like that to understand it.

Daytona Historics 1999......March/Frisbee single seat Cam-Am car with 350 cui alloy chevy. The owner of the car was stupid enough to let me suit up and take it out for a qualifying race. Astounding dynamics!
