One of the Long Island RX-7 shops put an entire 3rd gen drivetrain into a Miata...I think it ran 10s with major wheelspin problems, and I believe it was pushing about 530 to the wheels. It was in SCC a while back; I'll try to find the article when I go to my mom's house next weekend.

Humm.. making the body of a miata into a mini FD would be different and maybe worth it.. but I don't really like miata's at all..

my mechanic (scott - Mazsport) has done a couple of these ... putting a rotary into a miata. He designed the subframe himself and put in 1st gen tranny's. Pretty stout little car. unfourtunatly he can't fine a beefy tranny that will fit... so it can handle a turbo engine. He has 2 Miata's with Rotary engines. very nice and quick little cars.

definate sleeper. only an Rx-7 owner knows the sound of a rotary from a mile away.
