Ls1 Rx7 Burnout Video
1point3liter - If I could suggest one thing it would be to not go turbo. Your getting 500+ reliable HP and you want more???
The guy with the WS-6 has a little brother w/ a Turbo Eclipse. It has close to 400 to the wheels. It took 3 engines in 6 months to get there.
Turbos thay make you happy but make you cry too.

It sounds to me like you have no idea what you are talking about
If you use the setup from a LS1...including the t-56 6 speed tranny, most people actually lose weight. Just cause the tranny is stronger doesn't mean its heavier. Then they use the stock rear which I've heard is good into the 10s. So, like I said, it doesn't sound like you have any knowledge of this swap or the LS1 and t-56 tranny
"How does having a heavier engine give you bump steer?
Mark "
Also, I don't know what bump steers means, but i'm going to assume it hapens when you taking a turn, then you put more load onto the front suspension, specially the outside wheel, which would cause your suspension to hit the bump stop? Am I right?, if so, when you put in a heavy engine(20b) the extra weight wil allow the stock suspension to hit the bump stops easier. I would think this wouldn't make a difference anyway because if you put a 20b into your car, i would assume that the suspension isn't stock.
JIm....beautiful Rx7

I must admit that I have no experience of either setup, but theoretically speaking the levels of torque from the engine determine the strength of the drivetrain, there may be exceptions by way of lighter materials or better designs. So I guess youre right in saying I know nothing about the LS1.
As for bump steer, it has nothing to do with the bump stops. Bump steer is caused when the track rod pivots don't line up with the suspension pick up points, and 1point3litre has explained how a 3-rotor engine causes this - so all my questions are answered.
But I still stand by what i said about adding lightness not power to go faster - think what is the fastest machine in a drag race - a motorbike. Why is a motorbike fast? not because its powerful but beause it only weighs a few hundered pounds, with less than 100lb ft of torque you can use a very ligh gearbox etc.
The rx-7 loosely follows this ideology producing afaik less than 200lb ft of torque meaning it could use what were in it's prime a lighter drivetrain with the added benefit of better handling and increased tyre & brake preformance - in short a car suited perfectly to the track - which is why I like it.

Second, I don't have to rev high and do a clutch drop like so many under powered bastards. Lets see a video of you just driving into donuts, without using any clutch at all! Oh yeah, I never went over 4000 RPM either.
I also wasn't trying to impress anyone. (The donuts were just havin' a little fun, idiot.) If I want to impress anyone, beleive me, I will.
I'll go hang myself if you go **** yourself! Am I banned yet?
